Stainless Steel RV Water Tanks — Fresh, Grey and Black
Factory RV tanks are moulded plastic in a fixed shape. When that shape no longer fits — a conversion, a restoration, a chassis with an odd bay — a stainless tank can be built to the space that is actually there.
What RV Water Tanks are for
Fresh, grey and black tanks do three different jobs. Fresh water needs a material that will not flavour what comes out of the tap. Grey and black tanks need to drain cleanly and stand up to what goes into them. All three usually have to fit an awkward space between frame rails.
Stainless answers the first requirement directly — our materials are FDA-approved, tasteless and odorless, so a fresh tank does not give water the plastic taste that older RV tanks are known for.
The shape is the other half of it. Because we build every tank to order, the tank can be dimensioned around the bay, with fittings and mounting brackets located where your plumbing and frame want them.

RV Water Tanks: common questions
Can you replace a tank that is no longer manufactured?
That is a large part of this work. Send dimensions from the old tank — or the tank itself, or the space it came out of — along with where the fittings need to land, and we will build a stainless replacement.
Will a stainless fresh water tank affect the taste?
No. Our materials are FDA-approved and 100% tasteless and odorless, which is the usual reason people move away from an older plastic tank.
Can you add baffles?
Yes. Baffles are worth specifying on any tank that will be more than about a third empty while the vehicle is moving, both for handling and to keep the tank walls from taking a repeated hit.
What information do you need to quote one?
Maximum length, width and height of the space, the capacity you are aiming for, and a rough sketch showing where the fittings and mounting points need to be. A photo of the bay helps more than you would think.
